Hotel Hacienda Don Carlos Itinerary:

You will fly commercial airlines to anyone of several “hubs”, like Dallas or Houston, that connect or have continuing services to Monterrey, Mexico or McAllen, Texas. Upon arrival, our Representative will meet you at the customs gate and you will be shuttled in a comfortable air conditioned van to the Hotel Hacienda Don Carlos on beautiful Lake El Cuchillo. We plan and arrange for your ground transportation to and from the Hotel, however, as you will note in the cost section, the cost for ground transportation is not included in the package price.

Travel from Monterrey, Mexico will take approximately 1.5 hours. And, from McAllen, Texas the driving time is about the same. However, you could encounter some delays at the border crossing and check points.

As an alternative, and if you are familiar with travel in Mexico, you may elect to drive yourself to this exciting destination just 2.5 hours from McAllen, Texas.

**IMPORTANT: OBTAIN A VISA **

Make sure you bring a Certified Copy of your Birth Certificate as well as your Drivers License. With these documents you will be issued a Visa by Mexican Customs at the Port of Entry. You may, of course, utilize your current up to date Passport. Adult Americans traveling with a minor (under 18 years of age) are required to present a notarized letter from the absent parent(s) indicating that the traveling parent or legal guardian has permission to take the minor out of the country.

A word about tipping:

Gratuities are not included in the package price. “Normal” tipping for your guide is US $35.00 to US $45.00 per day per boat, whether one or two anglers. Your tip should be paid directly to the guide on the last day. “Normal” tipping for support staff and restaurant personnel is US $45.00 to US $50.00 per day per person for three (3) days of fishing and US $10.00 per day per person for each additional day. This tip should be paid directly to the host / manager, who will divide it with the other personnel.
