You will enter the park at the secure check station…located just a short drive from the Hotel Hacienda Don Carlos and the El Cuchillo Water Sports Marina. The views of Lake El Cuchillo from the Hotel Hacienda Don Carlos are expansive.

Once inside the lobby you will be greeted by the professional staff that will assist you with check in and your baggage. Our bi-lingual manager Chico will provide a brief orientation of the resort and planned fishing activities.

Then it’s off to your deluxe rooms. Each spacious room is appointed with satellite TV, phone, air conditioning, large bath areas with vanities stocked with soap, shampoo and great soft towels. Mexican tiled showers complete the expansive floor plan. The beds are firm and comfortable. Each room has a private patio and poolside entrance for that quick dip just before bedtime.

Perhaps after a day of travel you are ready for a swim in the beautiful pool overlooking the lake or a maybe a soak in the Jacuzzi would be more relaxing. This delightful water feature is available for your use…so enjoy.

All meals will be served in the enchanting El Mirador restaurant. In keeping with the tradition of outfitter Bill Chapman, Sr., you will not be disappointed with the food and service. As you enjoy the view of the lake from El Mirador, you can expect to dine on both American and Authentic Mexican specialties such as soups, salads, fresh fish and shrimp, enchiladas, steaks imported from Texas and unique deserts. For breakfast you will enjoy orange juice, fresh coffee, bacon, eggs, pancakes and breakfast burritos. The bar is always open providing plenty of beverages like iced tea, soft drinks, Margaritas, beer and bottled water. These beverages are all included in the price of the package. If you desire something different like Scotch, Bourbon, etc. please BYOB.

After the evening meal you may again wish to enjoy a soak in the Jacuzzi or a dip in the pool. Or you may just want to sit on the veranda overlooking the lake and enjoy an awesome Mexican sunset. Just maybe, after a day on the lake with the El Cuchillo kids, you need some time to reorganize some tackle. And, as always, this is the perfect time to engage in camaraderie with the other guests.

You will be awakened each morning with fresh juice and coffee. After a hearty breakfast in the dining room it is off to the Marina where you will meet your guide. He will have your boat in the slip, loaded with your tackle and ready to go for a great morning of chasing that “wall hanger” of a bass.

At the end of the morning you will return to the resort for lunch and, if you like, a short siesta.

Then it’s back on the water for the afternoon and evening fishing.

Perhaps there are members in your group who do not wish to fish but would enjoy another water sport activity. The Cuchillo Water Sport Marina is a full service marina offering ski boats and related equipment rental and personal watercraft rentals. Although not a part of any package price, these opportunities are available for your enjoyment as well.
