Your Flight to and From Brazil:

Delta Airlines offers overnight jet service from Atlanta to Manaus (flight 557) on a Friday at approximately 10:55pm.

Delta Airlines
Delta Airlines
We will notify you what time you are leaving based on your departure date. This should allow you to arrive in Atlanta from just about any location in the states to make this flight. If you are coming from a moderate weather home city, we recommend allowing at least four hours from your arrival in Atlanta until the Delta flight departs. If you are from a home city where winter snow storms often result in flight delays, consider getting to Atlanta six hours before your flight. You will depart Manaus at 10:55 p.m. on Saturday night (on Delta flight 558) and arrive back in Atlanta at approximately 7:10 a.m. We suggest making your connecting flight no earlier than 2-1/2 hours after your Delta flight arrives. If you get stranded on your way to Atlanta, please call the office, and we will do our best to make arrangements for a flight the following day. Please be aware that we cannot be responsible for flight delays, flight cancellations or mechanical problems with airlines and airplanes that cause you to miss your flight or be delayed or rerouted, and any costs incurred in reaching the camp will be at your expense.

Arrival in Brazil:

Your flight to the camp.
Upon clearing customs in Manaus, the group will be met by our representatives. They will assist you in getting your gear aboard a van or bus and will transport you. Your charter flight will depart at approximately 8:00 am on Saturday, depending on weather conditions. The pilots are very safety conscious and will not depart Manaus until the weather is safe for them to fly to the camp. Upon arrival at the camp, your luggage will be unloaded for you to check and then it will be placed in your room while you are fishing.

At the camp, the manager will give a brief orientation and answer any questions you might have. On some days, weather or other conditions can delay your arrival at camp by several hours or occasionally a day. However, on most days, you will arrive at camp in time to get in a few hours of fishing. It is a good idea to try to get extra rest this day for the demanding schedule of fishing that will begin on Day 3.

Your Amazon Wake-up Call:

You will be given a wake-up knock on your door each morning at 6:00 a.m. We start early, so that you can enjoy a full day of peacock bass fishing.

Your Fishing Day Begins:

Junglelow Fishing Boat
Junglelow Fishing Boat
You may leave immediately after breakfast with your guide. A boxed lunch is available daily. If you wish to return to the camp for rest during the day, you can have your box lunch at camp. No hot lunches are prepared during the trip. Each morning, you will depart the camp for fishing at approximately 6:45 a.m.

The End of Each Fishing Day:

Anglers must be back at the camp no later than 6:00 p.m. each evening. If any boat has not returned to the camp by 6:00 p.m., we will send a search boat with guides to find you and return you to camp. For your own safety, we ask that you follow these rules closely. If you have boat trouble, the guide is responsible to get the boat back to the main river to await help to arrive from camp. On the last day of your trip, you will return to the camp at 2:00 p.m. so that the staff has adequate time to service the boats and prepare for the next group. This will also give our guides a much needed break between trips.

Meals:

Breakfast will be served at 6:15 am each morning. You will be treated to a buffet breakfast. Hot coffee will be brewing before breakfast and you may help yourself to coffee and juice 30 minutes before breakfast begins in the dining room.

The camp dining room.
After breakfast, an array of cold cuts, bread, fruit and condiments will be available for you to prepare your own box lunch. In addition, various types of soft drinks, beer and bottled water will be available to ice down in your coolers on the fishing boats. We strongly suggest you do take a lunch break, as it is very hot and humid during most fishing days. Your guide will find a nice shaded spot for you to enjoy your lunch and take a break. Make sure you are well hydrated, taking frequent water breaks throughout the day.

Dinner will be a more elaborate affair, and we will feature an array of beef, fish, beef and chicken dishes. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM each evening, after allowing enough time for some hors d’oeuvres, a quick cocktail or cold beer and a refreshing shower.

Final Evening in Manaus:

After you return from the camp to Manaus, you will be transported to a hotel for your final afternoon and evening. You are free to spend the afternoon and evening at leisure. We can arrange for the group to have a tour of Manaus and do some shopping. This tour, as well as the final evening meal in Manaus, will be at your expense.

Return Trip to Atlanta:

You will be asked to meet our representatives in the lobby of your hotel at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday night for transport to the airport for your return trip home. The bus will leave for the airport no later than 9:20 p.m., and everyone is expected to have their luggage in the lobby and to have paid for any extras on their room and turned in their room keys at the desk. At the airport, you will form a line to check in with the airline. (Flight 558) Once the line is opened, you will proceed to check-in and to the security check. From there, you will pass through immigration where your passport will be checked and the copy of the immigration form given to you on your arrival will be collected by the immigration officer. From there proceed to the waiting area to await boarding of the aircraft. A final check of carry-on baggage will be conducted by the airline just prior to boarding. Enjoy your flight back to Atlanta and on to your final destination with our thanks for your visit.

At Fishin’ Expeditions, we take care of the planning. We will arrange your itinerary for you. It is our preference that everyone in the group departs from Atlanta at the same time and on the same flight.
