Peacock Bass Fishing Brazil…Getting There:
Are you ready to begin planning your adventure? The following is a typical trip itinerary:
Day 1: Thursday
Your Flight to and from Brazil

TAM Airlines
TAM Brazilian Airlines offers overnight jet service from Miami to Manaus (flight 8077) on a Thursday night at approximately 7:15 PM. This should allow you to arrive in Miami from just about any location in the states to make this flight. If you are coming from a moderate weather home city, we recommend allowing at least four hours from your arrival in Miami until the TAM flight departs. If you are from a home city where winter snow storms often result in flight delays, consider getting to Miami six hours before your flight, or consider arriving in Miami the night before your scheduled flight to Brazil. You will depart Manaus at 11:50 AM on a Saturday (on TAM flight 8076) and arrive back in Miami at approximately 6:00 PM. Because of this flight schedule (unfortunately the only one going direct to and from Manaus) you might have to overnight in Miami. We suggest making your connecting flight no earlier than 3 hours after your TAM flight arrives. If you get stranded on your way to Miami, please call the office, and we will do our best to make arrangements for a flight the following day. Please be aware that we cannot be responsible for flight delays, flight cancellations or mechanical problems with airlines and airplanes that cause you to miss your flight or be delayed or rerouted, and any costs incurred in reaching the camp will be at your expense.
Day 2: Friday
Arrival in Brazil

Roteiro Float Plane
At the camp, the manager will give a brief orientation and answer any questions you might have. On some days weather and other conditions may delay your arrival at camp by several hours or occasionally a day. However, on most days, you will arrive at camp in time to get in a few hours of fishing. You will return to camp at 6:00PM. It is a good idea to try to get extra rest this day for the demanding schedule of fishing that will begin on day three.
Days 3-8: Saturday – Thursday
Your Fishing Day Begins:
Fish All Day! You will be given a wakeup call with a knock on your door each morning at 5:15 AM. A boxed lunch is prepared each day or, if you wish, you may return to the camp for the boxed lunch. No hot lunches are prepared during the trip. Each morning you will depart camp for the fishing day at approximately 6:15 AM.
The End of Each Fishing Day:
Anglers must be back at the camp no later than 6:00 PM each evening. If any boat
has not returned to the camp by 6:30 PM, we will send out a search boat with
guides to find you and return you to camp. For your own safety, we ask that
you follow these rules closely. If you have boat trouble, the guide is responsible
to get the boat back to the main river to await help to arrive from camp.
Meals:

Breakfast will be served at 5:30 AM each morning. You will be treated to a buffet breakfast. Hot coffee will be brewing before breakfast and you may help yourself to coffee and juice 30 minutes before breakfast begins in the dining room.
After breakfast, an array of cold cuts, bread, fruit and condiments will be available for you to prepare your own box lunch. In addition, various types of soft drinks, beer and bottled water will be available to ice down in your coolers on the fishing boats. We strongly suggest you do take a lunch break, as it is very hot and humid during most fishing days. Your guide will find a nice shaded spot for you to enjoy your lunch and take a break. Make sure you are well hydrated, taking frequent water breaks throughout the day!
Dinner will be a more elaborate affair, and we will feature an array of beef, fish and chicken dishes. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM each evening, after allowing enough time for some hot hors d’oeuvres, a cool drink and a hot shower.
Day 9: Friday
Final Day / Evening In Manaus:
Depart camp on day 9 at approximately 8:00 am. You will fly by charter to Manaus
GA airport and upon arrival you will be transferred by air conditioned van to
the hotel for your final evening in Brazil. This is included in your package.
You are free to spend the day at leisure. We can arrange for a group tour of
Manaus and you can do some shopping at the Market Place or visit the historic
Manaus Opera House. Any tour, shopping and the final evening meal in Manaus will
be at your expense.
Day 10: Saturday
Return Trip to Miami:
You will be asked to meet our representatives in the lobby of your hotel at 8:30 AM on Saturday morning for transfer to the international airport for your return trip to Miami. The bus will leave for the airport no later than 8:45 AM, and everyone is expected to have their luggage in the lobby and to have paid the hotel for any extras on their room and the room key should be returned to the front desk. At the airport you will form a line to check in with the airline. Once the line is opened, you will proceed to check-in and to the security check point. From there you will pass through immigration where your Passport will be checked and the copy of the immigration form given to you on your arrival will be collected by the immigration officer. From there you will proceed to the waiting area to await boarding of the aircraft. A final check of carry-on baggage will be conducted by the airline just prior to boarding. Enjoy your flight back to Miami and your final destination. You will return via Tam Airlines scheduled to depart Manaus at 11:50 am, and arrive in Miami at 6:00 pm. Please do not schedule any domestic departure from Miami before 9:00 pm. You should consider staying in Miami and departing the following morning. At fishin’ expeditions, we take care of the planning. We will arrange your itinerary for you. It is our preference that everyone in the group departs from Miami at the same time and on the same flight.

Season:
The normal fishing season in the Amazon River Basin runs from September to March.
All trips are booked on a first come basis. The Brazilian Amazon offers two distinct
fishing seasons, coinciding with the dry seasons north and south of the equator.
On the Rio Negro (and its many tributaries) north of Manaus, prime time is between
November and April. Despite our best efforts to schedule anglers during optimal
fishing conditions, unexpected "dry season" rains can play havoc with
the fishery, so anglers making this trip need to understand that this is the
rain forest.
Included: The trip packages include 9 days / 8 nights with seven (7) full or partial days of fishing. Also included are ground transfers between hotel and airports and fishing destination. Semi-private air-conditioned staterooms and all meals at the fishing destination, including soft drinks and beer plus all the water and fruit juice you require, fishing permits, guide operated boat and outboard, daily laundry service (there is no need to over pack) and charter flights from Manaus to camp and back. Great Shakespeare Agility and St. Croix rods are provided along with both casting and spinning reels by Shimano and Pflueger. A tackle kit is available for each boat. You will be required to pay for any damaged rods, reels or lost tackle as well as any consumables (jigs and banjo minnows). You may of course bring your own tackle as long as you stay within your weight limits.
Not Included: The following items are not included in the price of your trip: domestic travel to Miami, international airfare to Manaus, gratuities to guides and boat staff and camp personnel, tips to service personnel in Manaus, food and drinks in Manaus your final day and evening, overweight luggage charges, personal items, liquor, fees associated with obtaining passport and visa and airport departure tax.
