After last year 'that nothing on earth can compare to, we still managed to catch an absolute ton of fish!! Our largest weighed in at just shy of 10lbs but was just shy of 30" long!!! After returning home (without exact girth measurements), we found out the scale was 1.3lbs off!!! My dream fish!!!
I was ruined mainly because the first 3 fish boated on the first morning were in excess of 8lbs including the near big fish! Pictures attached. All were caught on my Lip Ripper Jigs red head and watermelon and red skirt in 20' of water. And nothing has changed! Luis picked up a rod and had one of them!!!
Fishing was a little off the first day but still managed to have a 100+ each day. If it is any sign of things to come, everyone there caught an extreme amount of 10-13" fish. If 1/2 survive, the lake should be unbelievable in a couple of years!!
Second day was great fishing again with everyone reporting 8# fish in the morning and 4-6lb fish that were caught at a rate that you could not keep track of all of them! Lots of 7lb fish also.
It got slow in the early afternoon so Luis started his crap! Grabbed a chatter bait, ripped the skirt off. Took a skirt off of a jig and put it on and ripped the legs off of a creature bait.
This was the most awful looking thing on earth!!! He turned around and threw to the center of a cove. All that needs to be said is picture attached! Again the totals were about the same as the first day. Lots of fish on spinnerbaits! Now comes the third day!! TOP WATER BITE IS FANTASTIC!!! 150 fish in the morning and the first 3 hours were on buzz baits and torpedos. Most all fish were 5-9 lbs!! The crankbait bight after the sun came up was great on jointed shad rapps and DT10 rapalas. The Porters killed big fish on DD22's and swim baits!
4th day was play day!! We had a ball catching fish on anything we threw! The fish came up on shad and it was game on! In my boat I can say we had in excess of 800 fish total over 4 days and from what the others say the totals were very similar!
Again, Thanks for another outstanding trip and we're already planning next year.

Thank you and your staff for once again for 4 of the best fishing days of my life. This is the 3rd year in a row I have gone to Trophy Bass Lodge and each time it gets better.
I know Mexico has had its challenges and many people are afraid to travel. But I can say without hesitation we were very comfortable and never felt threatened or in danger. In fact, the opposite was true. Coming back and seeing George at the airport, Louie, Freddy, Hector and the same staff at the lodge made us feel like we were among friends.
In 4 days we caught over 400 bass. Most in the 4-6lb range and several in the 7-8 lb range. The mornings started off with several fish on a Lizard and Senko and moved to rattle traps and spinnerbaits in the afternoon. I’m looking forward to either going again this fall, if not then definitely in the spring.

David.... Just returned from the Lodge on 11/6/09.
We had a blast at Trophy Bass Lodge and I am sure that we would have caught twice as many fish if that hurricane had not come through.... but 100 fish a day up to 8# is not all that bad. We understand as die hard fisherman that nobody can control the weather, and we just make the best of things. Luis learned some fishing tips from us as well. I used a lure that he was fascinated by. It was a simple white 3/8 oz. bucktail with a white painted head, and tipped with a small fin-s. We caught over 400 bass over a 4 day period.
The food was fantastic !!! The cook was second to none. He was great !!!! The accommodations were super and the everything was done on a timely fashion. It was very organized.
Thanks again for helping to make this one of our top 3 trips that we have ever taken.
